Google Earth : 2000 Years Ago

The Glue Society, an Aussie creative collective, was commissioned to create a God's Eye View of four key Biblical events as if they were captured by Google Earth.

Pictured below is Noah's Ark. Click on the image to see more from the Creative Review blog.

India Ink Drawings by Gianluca Costantini

I really like this artist and this series. More El indio by Gianluca Costantini

Indian ink, paper 21 x 29
Emanuel Murangina, Ruanda.

"My family was exterminated. I was shot as well, but I only lost consciousness. When I woke up, I found myself completly covered with corpses. This is the room where the corpses were gathered together. I often come back here because I find myself more at ease with dead people."

Chris Jordan's Statistical Art

Chris Jordan sets up and shoots photographs of statistical appalling facts about our culture: the number of plastic beverage bottles used in the U.S. every five minutes, the number of cell phones retired in the U.S. every day, the amount of office paper used in the US every five minutes...

Chris Jordan - Plastic Bottles, 2007

The author makes the caviat that you don't really get the full effect of these images when you view them at reduced web size, but they're still very impressive.

Crateman Returns

Last October a few guerilla artists in Melbourne built Crateman out of milk crates for the viewing pleasure of Australian rail commuters. Crateman returns this year, 150 milk crates used for this one - pictures on Wooster Collective.

I like Wooster Collective, which showcases images of this sort of street art from around the world.
